Describe the overall nature and purpose of the job as it exists today.

 

SW CM team within System SW is responsible for mobile phone software integration and configuration management.

 

As a SW Configuration Manager you will:

 

• Secure the official SW building and release.

• Implement and maintain tools and script to secure traceability, transparency and continuous integration in SW development.

• Join SW platform bring up and system integration work.

• Provide source code version control, branch creation and strategy.

• Support developer SW building and source code release.

 

Qualifications:

We assume that you have a relevant technical degree from a University and 3+ years working experience within SW configuration management. You are well organized, structured and efficient.

 

1.  • Secure SW build and official release

    • Project support on branch strategy and integration process

    • Develop and implement software version and change control processes, policies, and procedures

2.  • Develop and maintain CM related tools/script and SW building job on Jenkins server.

    • Communication with other department to align the tool chain.

3.  • Product configuration

    • NV parameter configuration

4.  • SW platform bring up and system integration.

    • Development work reuse between different projects, such as rebase and cherry-pick between different system branches

5.  • Developer support on SW build and configuration tools

    • Training to internal customers on delivery process and CM related tools

       

1. Technical skills

   Android SW system structure and image creation knowledge

   Good understanding of system configuration management standards, SCM technology and tools

   Familiar with source control, integration & release activity, and build system

   Familiar with CM tool like Git/Repo/Jeckins, etc.

   Good Perl/Python/shell/Makefile programming knowledge.

   Bring up and system integration skill

 

2. Communication Skill

   Good presentation and organization skills

   Good communication skills both written and oral (understanding people, asking through)

   Strong English language skills, both written and oral
