Description
The mission of Research Area Packet Technologies within Company Research is to provide business segments within Company with state of the art competence in areas of strategic importance in order to secure long term product provision. The areas in focus are (i) Packet Transport and Routing, (ii) Network Storage and Processing, (iii) Evolved Packet Core, and (iv) System and Technologies.
With the head quarter in San José, the research area have groups in six different locations over the world; Montreal, Stockholm, Helsinki, Budapest and Beijing. Apart from this, the research area cooperates with Business Units and Design Units in those and other parts of the world. The group in Beijing will work in the Evolved Packet Core area.
Responsibilities
Participate in setting up strategies and building up a Packet Technologies research group in Beijing
Drive research projects in the IP area within Packet Technologies
Actively contribute to technology evolution in the Evolved Packet Core area
Present and "sell" research results to other parts of Company
Contribute to customer meetings in China in relevant areas
Qualifications
· Deep knowledge in 3GPP Packet Core area and/or deep knowledge in IP networking
· Knowledge in one or many of the following areas; Evolved Packet Core, Content Distribution Networks, Caching, IP Transport.
· Good understanding of standardization, within 3GPP, IETF and Chinese standardization organizations
· Self-driven, self-organizing and structured.
· Ability to drive complicated tasks, taking own initiatives and able to lead others.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant areas, such as datacom networking and/or 3GPP packet switched systems.
· Proven project manager experience.
· Fluent in English and Chinese languages, both oral and written.
· Good communicating as well as networking skills in large organizations spanning several countries, continents and cultures.
