Description:
1, Responsible for electrical design of assigned notebook system/subsystem. Drive system architecture definition and ensure consistency/compatibility and ensure the manufacturability, reliability and serviceability of designs.
2, Support the prototype PWA builds, leading junior engineer to do notebook motherboard circuit design and board design working with layout engineer, manufacture engineer. Coordinate mechanical engineer, thermal engineer and layout engineer working on the same goal.
3, Lead on board debug for various product development stages, including leading design reviews prior to next phase and ensure product meeting all the design requirements and design consistency, and drive the process and ensure test plans are thorough, ensure all electrical issues are driven to closure through root cause and perform real-time feedback. Ensure that common issues for other programs are communicated as necessary.
4, Work with cross-functional team to develop product from concept into production with collaboration with ODM/OEM partners.
Qualifications:
1, BSEE with at least 7 years or MSME with at least 5 years of hand-on experience in the notebook hardware design is required.
2, In-depth knowledge of motherboard and system architecture, circuit design, board design, board/system level issues troubleshooting skills.
3, Familiar with Cadence tools and other related tools, PCB manufacture and related technologies, HDI technology and SMT process is must.
4, Solid BIOS knowledge, understanding of hardware, software, driver interactions is a must.
5, Rich experience on EMC and other notebook certifications are plus.
6, Ability to operate as a coach to motivate and lead team
7, Working experience in multinational company
8, Good Communication skills in mandarin and English both verbal and written are critical.
9, Sound ODM/OEM engagement and management skill set is desired.
10, Familiar with Company PLC is a plus.

The Application Engineer is primarily a Software Engineer/Developer. Significant contribution also result when the AE acts as a product evangelist, program/project manager and a marketer. Application Engineers act as consultant and provide support to third party product developers. Key Duties and responsibilities: Make sure that software products run best on Company's latest and upcoming platforms and technologies. Work and influence SW developers during all phases of SW development cycle incl. feature definition, project setup, project execution, tech support for go-to-market
Qualifications
You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with more than 3 years of industry related experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in both Chinese and English
- Solid experience on multimedia application, DTV/STB SW stack development
- Good knowledge of IPTV/STB/DVB/ATSC standard
- Good experience on Linux* kernel and embedded system environment
- Good knowledge of common video codec(H264/MPEG/VC1).
- Familiar with common audio codec(MPEG/AAC/Dolby/DTS) and audio driver knowledge.
- Experience of 2D and/or 3D graphic (OpenGL, Direct FB, frame buffer, GTK and user interface) development would be an added advantage
- Strong coding(C/C++) and trouble shooting skills
- Willingness to travel to customers locations in PRC and APAC
