Test Environment Engineer

Company Test Environments (BETE) is providing coordinated and cost efficient test environment (TE) operation to internal and external users.

 

Responsibilities:

Ensure that the test environment is available and running satisfactorily in line with   customer expectations.

Ensure that customer requirements for test environment are met.

Deliver BETE service in line with Service Pack agreed in service level agreement.

Drive and participate in development of Test Environment (TE) solutions
Support and perform activities for basic and complex TE solutions.
Perform O&M and support activities on TE Nodes, TE Tools and common/IT infrastructure.
Propose and participate in local improvement initiatives.
Carry out tasks in accordance with BETE ways of working and using BETE tools where appropriate.

 

Activities:

 

Successful preparation and setup of solutions through activities in network design, planning and deployment of TE Solutions.
Perform hardware maintenance and trouble shooting.
Implementation of BETE service delivery process
Supervise and plan installation of hardware.
Carry out operation and maintenance activities in lab.
Participate in lab planning and solution definition.
Maintain equipment databases.
Configure lab equipment in accordance with customer requirements.
Respond to service requests from test environment users.
Manage equipment life cycles.
Work to ensure that equipment utilization is maximized.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

 

The successful applicant will have a third level qualification in engineering, telecommunications or other technical field, and should possess the following skills:

Good knowledge and understanding of telecommunications and particularly radio concepts.
Technical experience with different nodes of the radio network.
Good system knowledge of W-CDMA and TD.
Willing to learn new technologies.
Knowledge of and understanding the technology, solutions, and applications as well as the business models driving our internal customers’ needs.
Ability to maintain a flow of communication with customers, suppliers, colleagues and partners.
Ability to convey, receive and exchange ideas, information, knowledge and experiences in a clear, concise and open manner.
Open to new technologies.
Good English, both spoken and written.
Good communicator.
Self starter.
Strong organizational skills.
