Job Description: Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed and input and/or output requirements designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.

 

You should possess a relevant educational qualification. Additional qualifications include:
- Knowledge in PC architecture
- Knowledge in C language
- Good communication skills in English
- Knowledge of PC industry standards, such as Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), System Management Basic Input Output System (SMBIOS), Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) and PCI-e* would be an added advantage
- Knowledge in Server platform and management would be an added advantage

Job Description: Develop platform BIOS, reference code and related documentation for Company silicon products such as next generation chipsets and processors. Responsible for authoring BIOS specifications, creating chipset reference code and developing and/or supporting platform BIOS for Company's CPUs and chipsets. Work closely with Company silicon design teams and be responsible for all software and BIOS related issues during the planning, development, and validation stages of the program.

- Knowledge in PC architecture and good experience in Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) and/or Tiano* Basic Input Output System (BIOS)
- PC industry standards, such as, Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), SMBIOS, Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), PCI-e*
- Good communication skills in English
- Knowledge for Server platform and management would be an added advantage

In this job, you are going to develop the new generation server architecture system.

You will work with global team to deliver product for the industry.  You are required to design and debug ARM/Embedded Linux based server management system.

Coordinating with other teams is also part of your job.

 

Good understanding of IA based Server architecture

Knowledge of Server management architecture, IPMI, BMC is must

Experience in firmware especially in server management area

I2C, TCP/IP, RS-232, ARM knowledge, Oscilloscope operation, Logic analyzer operation

Knowledge of hardware is a plus

Knowledge of EFI, BIOS is a plus

General software knowledge including data structure, OOD thinking, code quality, code review, source control is a plus
