TEAM OVERVIEW
NDO IP OS Beijing Team is looking for self-motivated, innovative, and courageous individuals for software development. The successful candidate will be part of the development team that establishes and maintains architectural integrity of Company IP Portfolio. Additionally, this team drives architectural decisions in alignment with Company’s end-to-end network architecture and evolution.
As part of PDU IP OS organization that is headquartered in San Jose, California, NDO IP OS Beijing is responsible for delivering IP Operating System Platforms and Company Routing Suite as a common component to various stakeholders. Our engineers are key to keeping Company on the leading edge of network infrastructure technology.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive early phase loop of the development life-cycle; define engineering requirements and high-level solutions for cross-function and system test teams
• Secure feature scope and strategy with stakeholders and component/product management
• Provide early effort estimates for project planning
• Interface with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and cross-function teams to define the scope and priority of development activities
• Together with cross-function teams, troubleshoot (and drive resolution of) complex software issues in a lab environment; identify potential new requirements and/or enhancements.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-function team(s) and across organization boundaries.
• Devise new architectures to drive stakeholder adoption and development efficiencies.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers in a leadership capacity to drive design decisions.
• Work with technical leaders to drive the vision of the organization
• Lead by example; generate positive energy to motivate teams.
• Always be on top of technical aspects of the project: provide full visibility, highlight issues, manage risks, and proactively look for solutions; clearly articulate options and tradeoffs and be able to make tough, pragmatic decisions.
The Ideal Candidate
• 12+ years of industry experience
• Demonstrable experience in developing complex distributed systems software at a technical leadership capacity
• Proven ability to use innovative approaches to solve highly complicated problems
• Excellent knowledge of routers, switches, and related protocols
• Highly motivated with excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Excellent communication in oral and written English
• A strong team player who can work with engineers of all levels, within and across organizations.
• Skilled at requirements clarification, driving effective/efficient ways of working, and delivering complex projects on time with high quality
• Bachelors / Master degree in Computer Science, EE, or related technical degree
