Job Summary
Major operators in Northeast Asia are looking to save cost and generate revenues by moving their own infrastructure onto virtualized cloud platforms and by providing subscribers with cloud services. The Senior Cloud Solution Architect will be part of our dedicated engagement team towards these customers. The role is to bring technical depth and versatility and to be able to confidently discuss with and lead the customer’s management and technical staff on all topics relating to cloud, in particular relating to operators challenges in virtualizing their existing applications and transforming their networks. The role also includes being able to analyze customer requirements, to build solutions using both Company and 3PP products, and to drive the project in a consultative selling way of working.
Responsibilities
l Responsible for short and long-term profitable business for Company by being part of or work closely with the sales team (Core 3) to translate the customer needs, and technology opportunities into detailed technical offering, solutions and proposals.
l Responsible for analyzing, designing and developing commercially viable end-to-end technical cloud solutions (e.g.: SDN, Cloud Management, NFV) for the customers based on their specifications and business needs. This will include both traditional telecom applications
l Responsible for leading the customer in creating their technical strategy toward cloud, including virtualizing their core networks, OSS/BSS platforms or their internal IT applications, as well as how they can generate revenues by selling cloud services in form of IaaS, PaaS or SaaS.
l Responsible for developing Cloud business plans and output deliverables.
l Responsible for providing professional consulting about cloud computing to a range of customers across the region.
l Responsible for design advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics plan to client
Job Tasks:
l Conduct in-depth discussions with customers regarding the cloud technology strategy and key challenges
l Develop & perform technical presentations and workshops in cloud related topics
l Support RFx in cloud related tendering
l Analyze customer technology, business plan, business environment & requirements with regards to cloud and virtualization, focus on customer improvement areas and challenges related to cloud technology and business (eg: NFV, SDN, Big Data, etc)
l Contribute to business case modeling activities for cloud, including concepts such as resource utilization, scaling out and OPEX benefits of automation.
l Build solutions based on Company Cloud products in combination with commercially available 3PP
l Monitor or be part of R&D activities in cloud, and provide product feedback to R&D
l Lead prototype and demo development teams, provide input and requirements and perform demos in front of customer
l Be the evangelist internally on new and emerging cloud related technology and business trends, help virtual team competence build up, gather and analyze competitor information in cloud related business
l Provide insight on how new trends will affect customer/Company business, current and future technology & operations, especially in telecom domain
Position Qualifications
Company Wide - Functional and other competences:
l Knowledge of Company cloud related portfolio and offering (ECS/ECM/EVA/etc) will be a plus
l Knowledge of 3GPP core standards and interfaces will be a plus
l Knowledge of Company telecom core products and OSS/BSS systems will be a plus
l Familiar with Company business process (SDP) & sales tools will be a plus
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
l MA or BA degree in CS, EE, or a related field
l At least 10 years of experience in interaction with senior IT managers and C-level executives and facilitating clients in IT management settings; At least 8 years of experience in consulting in an ICT environment for Data Center, Virtualization & Cloud services, Telecom industry related would be a plus.
l Vendor experience with EMC/VMware, Cisco, Oracle, HP & IBM regarding virtualization, hypervisor & management layer portfolios (strongly recommended), also has a fundamental understanding of the virtualization business drivers.
l Deep knowledge of cloud technologies such as: SDN, OpenFlow, OpenStack, NFV, Intel DPDK, Linux KVM , VMware, Hadoop, Pivotal/Greenplum.
l Expertise in Data Centers with transformation to Cloud experience including Software Defined Networks (SDN), Software Defined Data Centers (SDDC), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Data Center transformation and IT automation, Security & process.
l Experience and in depth understanding on the management and execution of projects for application development and migration for Cloud, software life cycle management (S-LCM), Cloud applications and their key characteristics.
l Deep understanding of various Cloud models (Public cloud, Private Cloud, Telecom Cloud) in at least one aspect of the Cloud or a general but “clear” understanding of the Cloud principles.
l Demonstrated proven track record with the will and ability to adopt and learn new technologies and business models.
l Proven track record of cross organization collaboration in creation of IT and Enterprise solutions.
l Detailed understanding of the cloud industry and market, familiar with IaaS, PaaS & SaaS, terms like scale-out, scale-up, scale-in, automation, cloud management.
l Expertise in web application design and experience on open source products is a plus
l Readiness to travel up to 75% annually
l English: Fluent
