Describe the overall nature and purpose of the job as it exists today.

The System team in Beijing is responsible for platform bring up, urgent and difficult issue trouble shooting and KPI issue analysis such as Power, Performance and stability. We are a team of skilled engineers with full competence in mobile area from system layer to Application layer.

We are now searching for several experienced developers to join our team and work within the Overall mobile software area.. Mostly focus on:

• Escalate and report technical issues and malfunctions.

• Escalate and report security issues and malfunctions.

• Independent of the owner, analyze and propose improvements needed to secure the software system.

• Provide technical support to software project

 

1.              

• In depth investigate severe complex systemic software issues on all levels, from low-level assembly code to high-end Java code and scripts in a systemic context (i.e. we constitute performance tuning):

• Performance

• Power Save

• Thermal

• Stability

• Memory/Configuration

• Bring up during BBBU, Core/Middleware part

• Find the root cause of issues , described above,  and propose solutions.

• Be part in securing underlying software system.

• Investigate issues in the borderline of hardware and software affecting the software system.

• Participate in task forces, technical investigations etc.

• Participate in team meetings.

 

2. Leadership Skills:

• It’s required to be in position to drive any issue/investigation to the very end and to be in position to finalize it in a given time

• Be able to lead technical discussions, secure win-win conclusions and help others make a difference (i.e. supporting others learning curve, provide strategically advice etc)

Communication Skills:

• To be in position to describe, verbally and in written text, technical complex issues and solutions in English

 

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES: 

1.

• Master large C/C++ and Java systems and systemic interaction in a Linux/Android environment.

• Several years of experience from programming in a Linux/Unix environment.

• Ability to solve complex software problems evens where there is an extremely limited set of tools available.

• Deep experience in debugging, finding complex bugs and in making software work.

• Used to working in a Linux/Unix software environment, command line tools and scripting.

• Knowledgeable in software security assessment.

• An good understanding of vertical layer from low-level  to application layer and ARM assembly programming.
