Describe the overall nature and purpose of the job as it exists today.

• Strategic

  • Create, maintain and implement CM strategy for sw area.

  • Create and document CM standard principles, rules, and concepts.

• Operative

  • Drive SW CM Architecture board. The board is responsible for:

    • Preparing SW CM Strategy

    • Preparing CM Standard rules and documents

  • Approve short term solutions for CM Standard deviations

  • Support the CM Architects to help them secure that CM Standard rules and concepts are followed in product projects.

  • Analyse impact of (proposals/requirements of) new features and architectural changes.

  • Provide supervisory direction/coordination to CM resources and improvement projects.

  • Participate in Enterprise CM Governance board

 

1. Maintain an up-to-date CM Standard for SW, e.g. overall branching, labeling and traceability strategy, including guidelines

2. Maintain an up-to-date SW CM Strategy

3. Initiate tasks and improvement projects to implement CM Strategy

4. Put requirements on CM tools in order to implement CM Strategy and Standard

5. Approves deviations to CM rules and guidelines

   Approve process and tool changes from a CM Standard perspective

 

1. Deep knowledge in fundamental Configuration Management theories and long practical experience.

2. Extensive software development experience (+8 years)

3. Self driven and able to lead without direct management responsibility
