Describe the overall nature and purpose of the job as it exists today.

•       Maintain stakeholder list for all communication around domains

•       Register and administrate new top level domains. Both gTLDs (like .net, .info, and .biz) and ccTLDs (like .de, .ar and co.hk) but also the new gTLD applied for .xperia

•       Take requests for new domains for marketing campaigns

•       Manage all sub domains and DNS records on the Extranet and Internet

•       Transfer ownership of externally owned domains

•       Act as a single point of contact for legal representatives in ownership transfer issues with cyber squatters

•       Act as a single point of contact for registration matters for the new gTLD .xperia

•       Provide fast, secure and anonymous registration of domains

•       Handle requests for CNAME, A-records and web forwarding

•       Ensure operations is cost efficient and if not propose changes in line with CorpIT directives and financial targets

•       Handle both functional and hierarchical escalations when necessary

•       Interact with Solution Manager with respect to technical matters or security when necessary

•       Interact with other IT infrastructure staff and managers when necessary

 

Company’s strategy for domains and URLs is to build the brand by a clear and consistent focus on the name Company and the domain sonymobile.com, and to limit the use of competing names and domains.

 

According to Company URL and domain strategy all web activities should be communicated under the format campaigns.sonymobile.com/campaign

 

1.  Take requests for new domains for marketing campaigns

2.   Provide fast, secure and anonymous registration of domains

3.   Manage all sub domains and DNS records on the Extranet and Internet

4.   Transfer ownership of externally owned domains

      Act as a single point of contact for legal representatives in ownership transfer issues with cyber squatters

 

•       Good general IT knowledge (servers, network, database and security)

•       Running IT operations in a multi-cultural environment

•       Good English skills, both oral and written

•       IT Security awareness

•       Being able to communicate with business stakeholders in a professional and structured way

•       Experience in ITIL – especially Incident, Problem and Change

•       Possess a proactive mindset to avoid future problems

•       Deep knowledge around web technologies like CNAME, A-records and web forwarding etc.

•       Moderate level of network knowledge

•       Moderate knowledge around CDN
