Role: Project Manager

Job Purpose:
¡́ Ensure the implementation of bespoke application development projects and product integration projects are delivered to customers within the timescales and to the quality expected.
Key Accountabilities:
Project
¡́ Developed knowledge and skills in the process for the implementation of at least one COMPANY Group application ; experience with the process of implementing solutions / integrating applications in other COMPANY Group applications
¡́ Work closely with client management to understand the business requirement for the project, developing effective working relationships and on-going management processes for the project
¡́ Define the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and manage their development and delivery
¡́ Ensure that the project is delivered within the financial requirements of the Practice Area
¡́ Estimate and plan projects from start to finish, with built in contingencies
¡́ Maintain awareness of ¡°big picture¡± in terms of overall architecture of solutions being delivered. Use initiative to make suggestions for improvements to solutions in respect of scalability, resilience and security
¡́ Plan and communicate resource requirements for current and future engagements
¡́ Provide project / product / process support to other consultants in the Practice Area
¡́ Review and recommend business cases for new projects
¡́ Work collaboratively with all project stakeholders;ensure collaborative decisions are made between technical and business teams
¡́ Ensure that team members are focused towards achieving set goals; able to bring them back on track if required
¡́ Provide clear visibility of risks/ issues both internally and externally
¡́ Set and ensure that level of quality and the adopted process is maintained and improved
¡́ Provide good visibility and regular feedback to all team members with regards to project status, requirements and performance
Sales
¡́ Support the sales / pre-sales process by providing input and validation on proposals and contracts; able to add value regarding project / product / client
¡́ Proactively identify potential solutions to improve revenue and business growth; able to clarify requirements and scope prior to notifying relevant COMPANY Group teams
¡́ Strengthen relationships with customers; able to discuss issues with multiple stakeholders of varying levels
¡́ Increase customer benefit, taking a role in providing a vision for solutions that deliver long term business benefits.
HR
¡́ Monitor project team performance against agreed objectives; manage the issues and communication with team members to ensure they remain committed to the established timelines
¡́ Proactively identify potential project team issues early; manage the issues with the team member and ensure relevant managers are notified
¡́ Contribute to developing competencies and performance measures to satisfy both company goals and team members¡¯ aspirations
¡́ Identify when training is required, discuss with team member and their manager; incorporate training requirements into work planning
¡́ Take pride and care of the consulting team members, provide support and mentoring where required.
Financial / Reporting
¡́ Monitor and report (to the head of Practice Area) key business metrics (resource utilisation, profit & loss etc)
¡́ Prepare forecasts for projects (timescale, budget), utilisation.
¡́ Provide weekly analysis reports to Senior Management on project status, utilisation, team performance, flag risks early.
¡́ Prepare invoices for project work and associated reports.
¡́ Provide clear timely communication and visibility to all stakeholders.

Functional Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
¡́ Experience of managing complex bespoke development projects
¡́ At least 5 years experience working in a Professional Services organisation preferably a software solutions or product vendor
¡́ Directly involved in delivering complex bespoke technical systems in an external customer facing environment
¡́ Strong Project Management and some team leading experience, PRINCE qualification or equivalent
¡́ Solid experience in e-Business/ e-Commerce software implementation
¡́ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
¡́ Strong Decision-making and organisational skills
¡́ Solid experience in analysis and design processes and methodologies including UML, RUP and XP
¡́ Experience in defining and monitoring quality
¡́ Retail Sector background
¡́ Implementing/Improving Quality processes
