Automation APF Engineer

Responsibilities:
Controls engineer will be heavily involved in integrating/implementing L7/8 Integrated Delivery automation solutions.
This will entail working closely with manufacturing customers to understand specific process tool operational requirements, designing an automated solution, and then using a rule based software development platform (APF/Activity Manager) to translate customer requirements into an automated solution that will be tested and then implemented in the production environment in a controlled manner.
Engineer will be responsible for sustaining and continuous improvement of existing as well as newly developed rule sets.
Controls engineer will also own one or more AMHS Controls applications with responsibility for installations, upgrades, continuous improvement, and participation in related VF user groups.
After sufficient training, engineer will be required to provide on-call support on a rotating basis for all AMHS Controls applications in order to resolve factory AMHS Controls failures.
The Controls engineer will be interacting frequently with local manufacturing, engineering and automation groups as well as VF counterparts and central automation group representatives.

Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a customer support oriented team.
Ability to work with customers and suppliers to support manufacturing¡¯s operational procedures
Proven communication and presentation skills, ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment, and demonstrated problem solving skills.
Experience in the Windows and UNIX (Solaris/HPUX) operating environments along with C++ programming, shell scripting and SQL or other relational DB expertise is highly desirable.
Experience with Perl scripting, SOAP and xml would be a plus.
Typically requires a BS/MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent background).
