System Engineer / Senior System Engineer (For ZigBee application)

Objectives
The System Engineer will be responsible for the embedded systems firmware development for home automation & security products (especially be responsible to implement the architecture and design of the next generation wireless products based on ZigBee technology) in the ISC APOD Shenzhen R&D center in accordance with sound engineering practices and processes.
Position Responsibilities
1. Perform design study defining how to use ZigBee technology in new product design offers (application level).
2. Implement the firmware modules related to the network configuration and binding and or other modules as part of product new design offers based on ZigBee technology.
3. Design, develop, test and debug embedded firmware modules within a particular product.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software problems in embedded systems.
5. Participate in product firmware release, maintenance activities and customer support issues.
PROFILE REQUIRED
1. Required skills & knowledge for the position:
· Must have embedded firmware engineering experience with C/C++ on industry leading commercial architectures for Microprocessors / Microcontrollers.
· Must have in depth experience and knowledge of the software architecture of wireless systems (Preferably ZigBee, Bluetooth).
· Must have strong technical skills, experience with wireless network protocols is desired.
· Be familiar with ZigBee offerings from TI, Ember, Atmel or Freescale and or strong experience in other wireless embedded technologies (such as Bluetooth) will be a strong assets.
· Dedicated and self-driven with a desire for getting things done on time, quality conscious and responsible
· Familiarity with power, lighting and/or security control product development and the ability to understand the technical concepts of control system type products.
· Experience with development of firmware in one or more of the following areas preferred:
o Implementation of Ethernet Stack
o Implementation of wireless network protocols
o Experience with 8-bit and 16-bit microcontroller firmware development.
o Embedded Linux development experience.
· Knowledge and experience in using version control systems for firmware.
· Comfortable working with hardware: reading data sheets, schematics, using JTAG interfaces and diagnostic equipment.
· Familiar with various peripheral interfaces and bus protocols such as IDE, PCI, USB, Ethernet, RS232, I2C, USB and SPI.
· Knowledge and experience in electronics manufacturing and quality requirements.
· Experience with Oscilloscopes, Power meter, Logic Analyser.
2. Required Educational Background & Professional Experience
· Master Degree in Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering with 2+ year’s experience. (5+ years experience for senior position).
3. Languages:
· English & Mandarin.
4. Other Requirements:
· Able to determine, set and maintain priorities of work.
· A high level of motivation and desire to learn.
· A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal means with all necessary levels of company personnel to address all technical and product needs.
· An ability to lead a project is required for the senior position. |
