(Senior) Regulatory Engineer

SUMMARY OF JOB:
Provide regulatory engineering review, planning, testing and report
administration for new product development efforts. Ultimately
responsible for the execution of regulatory approval activities for the
group. Work requires expert knowledge of safety and EMC regulatory
standards, engineering skill, and independent judgment.
Description of Essential Functions
- Train appropriate product development staff on regulatory requirements and test methods.
- Perform all needed regulatory tests (within capability of internal lab) and appropriately document results.
- Gain regulatory certifications on new and newly revised products; including TUV, UL, CSA, FCC, VCCI, and VDE.
- Coordinate the testing of new products in outside certified laboratories.
- Support laboratory equipment needs and records upkeep.
- Support follow up activities in factory locations as required.
- Learn new regulatory standards and document salient interpretations.
EDUCATION ¨C MINIMUN REQUIRED LEVEL:
¡¤ EE background preferable (not mandatory.)
EXPERIENCE ¨C MINIMUM REQUIRED:
¡¤ 3+ years experience in regulatory engineering function
¡¤ Expert command of requirements in Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive,
¡¤ Familiar with EN60950, UL1778, UL1363, UL1449, UL498, UL497, IEC62040-1
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ¨C REQUIRED:
¡¤ Excellent English verbal and written skills
¡¤ PC software proficiency(Excel, Word)
