Responsibilities
The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Solutions Group is looking for software engineers to develop innovative mobile Linux software at Zizhu site in Shanghai. In this position, you will be responsible to develop the MeeGo open source projects on new Company® platforms, including internet connected TV, netbook, smart phone, tablet and embedded systems. Key technical focus areas include MeeGo core (system services for media, visualization, internet and communication etc, user interface services based on Qt), MeeGo applications, performance, memory / storage footprint and power optimizations and others. Positions require positive interaction with the Linux / MeeGo community to ensure code is developed in an acceptable manner and adopted in upstream community projects as appropriate.
Qualifications
You should possess a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or equivalent and more than three years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Excellent computer science knowledge and programming skills
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Chinese
- Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and ability to participate in multiple areas of a nimble organization
- A strong background in Linux middleware, library, application, system design and/or development
- Technical depth: knowledge and experience in at least one key area of interests, for example, media framework, 2D/3D graphics system, OpenGL / X framework, GObject / Glib programming, QT, GTK, communication framework, or other system level software development
- Experience of internet connected TV software development is preferred
- Experience of open source project development will be a plus, and experience of interacting with the Linux community would be an added advantage |
