Description
In this position, you will be responsible for build and sustain outstanding Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance on the site. You will be primarily overseeing and leading the site's environmental program, related permits, and providing leadership, training, and coaching to build robust air, wastewater, and hazardous and/or chemical waste programs. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Driving and coordinating the implementation of environmental air, water, and waste programs and systems to ensure compliance with regulations and Company guidelines and/or requirements - Partnering with site, regional and corporate stakeholders to create environmental awareness, to track, analyze and report environmental indicators and driving continuous improvement efforts - Acting as the technical interface to government and external agencies on matters related to compliance audits, inspections, permitting, and others - Responding to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur - Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment
Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) related degree. A Master of Science degree or other graduate degree and/or a PE especially in environmental science would be an added advantage. Additional qualifications include: - A minimum seven years of working experience in an EHS engineering field with preference given to experience with ISO14001 certified companies - A minimum five years of working experience in a semiconductor fab - A strong background on air and wastewater regulations and hazardous waste management - Good oral, written, and presentation skills - Good command of written and spoken English - Good computer skills (Microsoft* Word*, PowerPoint*, Excel*, and other) - Ability to demonstrate in managing large projects and scopes - A self starter, detail-oriented, analytical, creative, and quality-driven and ability to work well with a diverse group of people - Knowledge of Company environmental guidelines, policies, programs, training and requirements - Knowledge of China EHS regulations and their application, especially environmental regulations - Familiarity with local and international environmental standards - Knowledgeable in environmental assessment tools, sampling, documentation practices, and metrics
The following qualifications would be an added advantage: - Prior experience in large scale construction and fab construction - ISO 14001 training certification or other related Environmental Management System (EMS) training accreditation - Knowledge and experience with other EHS disciplines (construction, safety, IH, OH, ergonomics) - Capable of speaking, writing and translating written and verbal Mandarin and English
