GPON product manager

In this position, you will be responsible for product management and technical sales support to Company's leading broadband access products (GPON, VDSL2 and related EMS/OSS, etc). The role is mainly to interact with all Services Providers in Mainland China as well as opportunities to work with operators in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

 

As a Broadband access product manager, you shall pocess in-depth knowledge on GPON and other Access products and technologies, work as product expert to drive feature development, technology lobby and provide customer support in product technology area.

 

*Is* recognized as a product and solutions expert for GPON and Broadband Access. 

Lead Greater China's (MUGC) engagement with product development unit for new feature requests, by raising feature requests to Company Engineering Unit and articulating to the Product Development Unit, the value of features to the customers.

Technical consulting/lobbying with external customers on technology specifications, network designs and service architectures; Must be able to translate service requirement to technical requirement and vice versa

Interact with external and internal customer(s) during various stages of product development, system test and solution verifications.

 

Bachelors (or higher degree) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Telecommunications

4 to 6 years experience in the telecommunication industry

Broad knowledge of telecommunications technology in the following areas:

GPON/EPON

xDSL

IP/Ethernet/MPLS

Broadband access network management and OSS

Good understanding of the market and business issues of the China Telecommunication Market, including an in-depth understanding of the current trends and evolution in the industry.

Experienced in working in the capacity of R&D, system engineering, system test, product management or presales support.

R&D and/or EMS/OSS related backgrounds will definitely add value.

Possess good competence and have the potential to grow as product expert (understanding GPON technology, system architecture, product features in deep details)

Broad understanding of networking technologies from Access, Metro and Core in Service Provider’s Network and/or ISP network.

Developed expertise in a specific subject area such as EMS/OSS etc.

Should have "hands on" experience deploying, implementing, and growing a large Tier 1 network. 

Has a track record of working well with global R&D, service, product marketing, or engineering teams.

Have conducted extensive Tier 1 acceptance criteria and validation test plans/suites successfully.

Be meticulous in details, inquisitive in finding out why, and a creative/innovative mind to finding solutions.

Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting/analytic processes in narrowing down issues/technical concerns.

Has had experience working with a partner on implementing/designing joint solutions and value propositions.

Initiates conversations and drive feature requests/customer tequirements and enhanced functionality for product lines.

Fluent in Mandarin and English.
