CBC/XN  GPON EMS System I&V Engineer 

 

Position Summary: Develop test plans and execute them to test GPON Network Management System new features as well as to regress testing of existing features. Troubleshoot software and hardware problems alone or with Development engineers. Maintain and document test results. Analyze test results to ensure functionality and consult with Development engineers in resolution of problems.

Required Demonstrated Abilities:

Review and provide feedback for product requirements and customer documentation.

Work with Systems Engineering, Development, and other testers to understand system requirements and behavior.

Develop test plans, test cases and review them with other groups Ability to execute test cases manually and to automate them using automation tools Analyze, isolate, and report anomalies and work closely with Development to fix problems and verify solutions.

Take personal responsibility for characterizing full aspects of the system - from reviewing requirements to testing and evaluating the release builds.

Maintain a good working knowledge of the features and behavior of Company's Network Element

Essential Skills and Experience:

BS in Computer Science or BSEE is a must. MS is preferred. Working experience with system verification for Telecommunications/Data Networking products is required Hands-on experience of manual testing of complex GUI system is preferred. Working knowledge of Solaris, ORACLE and Windows platforms is preferred. Test automation experience using WinRunner/Quick Test Pro/QTP or similar GUI test tools is required Working knowledge of the following technologies: Ethernet, L2/L3, ATM, VLAN forwarding Stacking, MAC bridging, DHCP/PPPoE Learning, IGMP, and IPTV, and VoIP is required.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required; Working knowledge of shell, Perl, Tcl/Expect script writing is a plus ORACLE DBA experience is a big plus Ability to convert RFC requirements into test cases; Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively in teams Switch or Router provisioning experience is a plus Open and good at communication, Good team player and able to work in high pressure Pro-active and very strong "Can do" attitude Fluent in oral written English
