Tax Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities:
1.        Local Tax Compliance
a)        Completion, coordination & or assistance with preparation of the direct and indirect tax returns for all relevant taxes (excluding payroll taxes and customs duties) within China and ensuring they are completed by the due dates
b)        Coordination of the necessary communication with local tax authorities
c)        Establish timelines for completion of tax returns and continually monitor progress
d)        Ensures that all tax payments / credits for all relevant local taxes, excluding payroll tax and customs duties, are processed by the due dates
e)        Partner with Accenture with respect to the direct and indirect tax return and tax payment process
2.        Local Tax Accounting
a)        Preparation of all necessary tax provisions for all local taxes, excluding payroll tax and customs duties, by the due dates
b)        Assist with monitoring all differences between local statutory accounting and local tax accounting
c)        Preparation of all taxation journals, excluding payroll tax and customs duties
d)        Reconciliation of the relevant China tax accounts, excluding payroll tax and customs duties, by the due dates in line with recently implemented corporate Governance requirements
Experience and Education Requirements:
1.        Years of Experience
a)        A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax and accounting related role in the Consulting or Commercial industry.
b)        China taxation background is required.
2.        Qualifications
a)        Must be a self starter possessing a proactive and positive attitude
b)        Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and organization skills
c)        Must be a strong self-motivator who can operate in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural teaming environment
d)        Must be able to adapt and work within a dynamic environment
e)        Possess the ability to handle confidential information in a diplomatic manner;
f)          Good relationship management capabilities (establish and maintain the required relations with the internal and external partners)
g)        Exceptional communication skills including good verbal & written English language skills.
