Job responsibilities:

 

1.       Maintaining system security

2.       Work with DBAs and Application support team to resolve any issues

3.       Setup disk arrays on SAN for Production and development environments.

4.       Work with Hardware/Software vendors to resolve any issues.

5.       Tape backup integrity verification and restore testing.

6.       Primary resource for ERP environment reporting using corporate tools such as Quest foglight monitoring.

7.       Manage IT helpdesk/issue tracking tool.  Secondary backup to help desk manager.

8.       Unix and Windows Hardware, Software and Firmware Management: Installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting, research/test new technology, monitor system health, analyze performance, pre-failure alerting, disaster recovery planning and exercise, maintain firmware upgrades, warranty repair coordination.

9.       Deployments and Installations: Build custom installation packages, develop and execute software package deployment strategies.

10.   Escalation backup for helpdesk manager

11.   System Security: Duties include system security auditing, anti-virus management, and enforcement of system access policies.

 

Requirement:

 

1.       Bachelor degree of reputed universities.

2.       5-8 years of experience in IT field as Unix Admin.

3.       Excellent English skills, both spoken and written.

4.       Good communication skills, custom focus

5.       The ideal candidate should be skilled in:

a.      Solaris v10, 9, 8, Veritas Volume Manager & netbackup.

b.      Knowledge of RAID, SAN/Storage experience.

c.      Webservers like apache and weblogic.

d.      Some exposure to Oracle and ERP is a big plus.
