This position is for a Platform Technical Marketing Engineer (TME), product and platform supporting the embedded Company® Architecture (IA) products in Company Embedded and Communication Group (ECG) at P.R.China (PRC). In this position, you will be responsible for predicting and understanding technical issues and requirements associated with platform system design at customers and driving solutions to these issues and requirements. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Working closely with PRC key Telecom Equipment Manufactures (TEM) to understand their current FreeScale PowerPC applications, including usage models on VxWorks at middle-ware, application software and migration trend in the future
- Supporting PRC TEMs on code migration from PowerPC platform to IA platform under VxWorks environment, with technical support to customers on porting their VxWorks and/or BSP, middle-ware, application software to IA, and necessary performance benchmarking and/or tuning
- Responsible for front line software technical support to PRC customers on Company® IA platforms in general
- Working closely with Company® ECG marketing teams on Company® IA platform enabling at PRC TEMs' specific market segments, including collecting customers' requirements on technical and competition information, IA product and/or platform promotion with presentations and foil preparation, Proof of Concept (PoC) preparation by aligning internal and external resources, to show PoC to PRC TEMs with in-depth discussion and/or influence to customers
- Preparing and delivering solution proposals and training to Company® PRC local Sales and Marketing teams to have them well equipped on technical

 

You should possess a Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Software, Computer or Electronic Engineering or relevant studies with more than four years of working experience in system and software designing. Additional qualifications include:
- Very familiar with VxWorks, in-depth understanding of VxWorks core, BSP development, more than three years of software development on VxWorks (better to have Linux* experience)
- Very familiar with FreeScale PowerPC, more than three years experience of OS* and/or driver porting, middle-ware development on PowerPC (Company® architecture background would be an added advantage)
- Fast learner to pick up Company® IA knowledge and skills to support IA solutions at customers
- Good knowledge on existing PowerPC solutions and requirements in PRC key TEMs
- Good knowledge on Telecom and Data Communication applications (Wireless, Security, Storage and others) including protocols (IETF and/or ITU)
- Good communication and/or presentation skills with people
- Good sense of team work
- Fluent speaking and writing of English

This position is for a Software Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) providing software technical support on the embedded Company® architecture (IA) products in Company® Embedded and Communication Group (ECG) at P.R.China (PRC). In this position, you will be responsible for supporting PRC key Telecom Equipment Manufactures (TEM) on software, including OS* and driver porting, middle-ware and application migration, performance benchmarking and tuning, Company® IA and software Tools training to customers. You will also be working together with Sales and Marketing teams to understand technical issues associated with platform system design at customers and driving solutions to these issues. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Working closely with PRC key Telecom Equipment Manufactures (TEM) to understand their software issues on using Company® IA processor and platforms and address the solution to solve these issues
- Supporting PRC TEMs on code migration in new IA designs or migrating from other processor platforms to IA platform under Linux* environment, with porting Linux* and/or LSP, middle-ware, application software to IA and necessary performance benchmarking and tuning
- Training to PRC key TEM customers of Company® IA technologies, handling and training up customer engineers of using Company® software Tools, to help customer to utilize the advantages of Company® IA and tune the performance
- Working together with Company® ECG marketing and engineering teams on internal tasks, including Proof of Concept (PoC) setup, performance benchmarking aligning with customer requirements
- Working closely with Company® PRC local Sales and Marketing teams, as front line technical interface to customer engineers and deliver technical training to Company® PRC local Sales and Marketing teams to have them well equipped on technical

 

You should possess a Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Software, Computer, Electronic or Communication Engineering or relevant studies with more than four years of working experience in software system designing. Additional qualifications include:
- Expert of Company® IA software with more than three years software development experiences on IA, familiarity with Company® software tools, performance benchmarking and tuning technique
- Familiarity with Linux* kernel and driver development with more than three years of software development experience on Linux* (VxWorks experience is a bonus)
- Good abilities of on-site technical supporting on customers' software, including OS* and/or driver, middle-ware and application software, on code migration, tuning,  benchmarking, and debugging, under Linux* environment and on VxWorks by co-working with VxWorks experts in the team
- Good knowledge on Telecom and Data Communication applications and protocols (IETF and/or ITU)
- Good communication skills with people
- Good sense of team work
- Fluent speaking and writing of English
- Availability to travel
