The company Communications Technology Beijing Lab (CBL)¡¯s charter includes conducting world-class research and development, partner with Company biz groups to max cross-architecture / -platform value and drive Company communications technology leadership. We are seeking a senior Technical/Research Manager to manage Carry Small Living Large team who is doing cutting edge Mobile Internet Device (MID) new usage model research and technology development by developing new MID system architecture, s/w and h/w prototypes. The manager will report to the Director, CTL Beijing Lab. The manager is responsible to define research agenda, project management and people management. The manager needs to 1) work with other research labs of Company across the world to lead the research directions, and deliver world-class innovative technologies which will have the impact on Company product groups' roadmap; 2) develop a world-class organization with core competencies on wireless device communications and collaboration.
Qualifications: The candidate must have solid track record on providing technology leadership, vision and a solid understanding of wireless communication, embedded devices, and mobile computing. He/she must be capable of driving projects successfully with innovating research ideas and setting research directions. The candidate must possess the know-how to develop and lead a strong team to deliver world-class and impactful results to Company product. He/she must have 10+ years research experience in project/research management with at least 5+ years of successful product management with complex, cross-functional initiatives. Experience working in international companies is a plus. The candidate needs to have a record proven success in driving organizations to deliver compelling result with clear ROIs. This individual must be a domain expert on mobile computing and wireless communication and embedded devices. The candidate needs to have excellent, effective oral and written communication skills to effectively engage in cross-Company as well as external industry partners, and university research collaborations. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
