A self motivated Staff System Engineer will be primarily responsible for the mobile platform with China technology specifics. Knowledge for China specific upcoming technologies, such as, TD-LTE and relevant 4G technologies & services would be a plus. The candidate is responsible for managing China specific technologies and feed to relevant global entities. Analyze and report potential impact to SOMC platforms. Also, scout out innovative technologies and introduce them into Technology Labs, UXC or relevant stakeholders to ensure competitiveness of SOMC product in China market.

The successful candidate for this role should have broad technical knowledge and in-depth accumulations in various mobile communication protocols and systems. He/she should also has not only solid knowledge in mobile platforms, system architecture, but also strong business sense in mobile communication and ajacent industry. The selected candidate will be required to work with various SEMC internal teams, especially platform development and product planning organizations, for not only best excution of the platforms and also to technology roadmap development/alignment.

The candidate is expected to have the strong technical compedencies to be able to independently communicate SOMC technology roadmaps and strategy to any customers in China and APAC. Any existing or previous experience working with CMCC, China Unicom and China Telecom will be definitely a plus.

 

• Bachelor’s or Master's of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience in mobile communication or related industry.

• Solid in-depth  knowledge in various mobile communication protocols, including UMTS/HSPA/LTE, WLAN, Bluetooth, DLNA etc. Knowledge in Chinese stds. and experience with innovative OTT would be a plus.

• Broad experience in multiple function areas for mobile device, including multimedia, networking protocols and hands-on experience in both HW and SW responsibilities in varoius product or project development. Experience in mobile system archetecture with focus on either HW or SW would definitely be a plus.

• Good communication skills with experience in dealing with mobile operators or other customers on technology strategies or collaborations.

• Strategic thinker to help CTO China develop China suitable technology strategies and roadmaps.

• A good team player with innovative thinking to make differences and take the ownership for his/her responsible areas.
